Kappa Sigma Fraternity Raises Money for Veteran Dogs

A table selling sweet treats to raise money for veteran dogs was set up by Brooklyn College’s Kappa Sigma Fraternity on Feb. 8.

Snacks featured chocolates, cookies and pastries. In the afternoon spent near Whitehead Hall, the goal was ultimately to pay homage to the four-legged fighters on the front.

Other resources available for veterans include the Veteran and Military Programs office in 1407 James Hall. Employees in this office who work to ensure educational benefits and transitions onto campus are successful and promote academic success.

Outreach from this office also includes service members, survivors and dependents. Job support is provided by means of internship programs and career options. Personal counseling, tutoring and referrals are available when needed.

With the help of the veterans office, scholarships and transcript assistance are also made possible, on top of book cost programs for disabled veteran students. In addition, the programs provide veterans with the most current information regarding benefits, entitlements and federal laws.

For more information, students can visit the office Monday to Friday, call 718-951-5105, or email the office at veteransaffairs@brooklyn.cuny.edu.
